Good Friday

For Christ also suffered for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, in order to bring you to God. He was put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit. 1 Peter 3:18 NRSV

Today is a significant day in the life of every believer in Christ, to reminisce the day of crucifixion. From the Gethsemane garden to the calvary cross, the path Jesus took was one filled with torture and humiliation from the very people for whom He was carrying the cross. He showcases a kind of Love that no human ever knew before and I want to bring into focus the final sayings of Jesus when He was on the cross, which perfectly reveals the kind of Love that God has for us.

JESUS’ SEVEN WORDS ON THE CROSS

“Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing” Luke 23:34

“Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in Paradise” Luke 23:43

"He said to his mother, “Woman, here is your son.” Then he said to the disciple, “Here is your mother.”.

John 19:26‭-‬27

“Eloi, Eloi, lema sabachthani?” which means, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”

Mark 15:34

“I am thirsty.” John 19:28

“It is finished.” John 19:30

“Father, into your hands I commend my spirit.” Luke 23:46

These words fulfill the ultimate purpose of Jesus for coming to this world. To teach us about mercy and kindness, to care for one another, and to have faith to fulfill what God has planned for us.

Greater love has no one than this, To lay down one's life for one's friend.

That is why Good Friday is seen as a remarkable day. Jesus was sinless and so His blood was worthy to wash away our sins and gift us eternal life. This is the day through which a way was created for us to be closer to God than ever before. For this reason, Good Friday is also a day for us to Renew and to Repent.

"If Jesus Christ be God and died for me, then no sacrifice can be too great for me to make for Him." - C.T. Studd

Today, let's decide to change ourselves, our minds, and our character to be who Christ called us to be in this world.

For, By His Wounds, We Are Healed!

Indeed, rarely will anyone die for a righteous person though perhaps for a good person someone might actually dare to die. But God proves his love for us in that while we still were sinners Christ died for us. Romans 5:7‭-‬8 NRSV

Dear Father, we Thank you for the love you have for us and we praise you. Lord, we pray in this day, that you would help us to change our ways and renew our spirit, we surrender ourselves completely in your hands. Let your cross be before me and let the world be behind me.

It is so by Faith, and by Faith so it is. AMEN❤
