Maundy Thursday

It was almost time for the Jewish Passover festival. Jesus knew that the time had come for him to leave this world and go back to the Father. Jesus had always loved the people in the world who were his. Now was the time he showed them his love the most.

John 13:1 ERV

The day of Passover, a day to remind ourselves of the Faithful Love our God has for us. It always surprised me that even just a few hours before His crucifixion, Jesus showed us an example of the right way to live as His followers in this world.

In His last supper, Jesus forgave our sins and gave us a new beginning with God, and by washing His disciples’ feet, He taught us about the importance of humbleness and cleansing of our sins, as an important quality of being His children. We have to realize that, a servant is not greater than a master likewise the one who is Chosen is not greater than the one who Chose. An Irish missionary named Amy Carmichael who spent her life serving God by helping little children in the Southern part of India wrote that,

If I love to be loved more than to love,

To be served more than to serve,

Then I know nothing of Calvary Love.

These words remind us a great deal of our ultimate purpose that Christ desires us to be in this world. To always love and serve those around us which is the perfect example of who Christ was in this world.

In the same way, after they ate, Jesus took the cup of wine. He said, “This cup represents the new agreement from God, which begins with my blood sacrifice. When you drink this, do it to remember me.”

1 Corinthians 11:25 ERV

Therefore, for His glory, let us partake this Maundy Thursday with a heart of true repentance for our sins. Let us always remember who we are in Christ foremost before everything else and be an example of His Love. Let us learn to live with a spirit of humility and a heart of servitude and love for those around us just as Christ showed us.

The Father sent me. He lives, and I live because of him. So everyone who eats me will live because of me. I am not like the bread that your ancestors ate. They ate that bread, but they still died. I am the bread that came down from heaven. Whoever eats this bread will live forever.

John 6: 57-58 ERV

Dear God, glory be to your name. We Thank you for the amazing love that you have for us. Lord, we pray that you help us, mold us, and give us a spirit of humbleness and a spirit of repentance, help us to live according to thy will.

It is so by Faith, and by Faith so it is. AMEN❤
