Undeniable Calling
Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine.
Isaiah 43:1 NRSV
Though I grew up in a Christian family, with all of them serving the Kingdom of God, I lead a very normal life like every other individual. I had a good understanding of the word of God, but I did not give enough importance to the calling that God had placed in my life. I often use to turn away from His Word, the only thought that I had in my mind was that ‘Why should I carry the burden of proclaiming His word at a very young age?, I’m unworthy’. I always wanted to be like every other person, making the best out of what the world gave me. As I went astray, with all the troubles and failures that came my way, it eventually led me to question the existence of God. My family couldn’t help, all that they could do was pray for me to experience His love. Though I doubted His existence, His word continued to press me, that at one point I had to surrender myself to God. I was amused to see myself on my knees overnight, He is indeed a God of wonders. That night, I felt the Holy Spirit anointed me, made me sure of my calling, and gave me the burden to serve His Kingdom by proclaiming the good news. Today, I boldly proclaim His love and live by it every day, and I'm rest assured that He will lead me according to His will.
The spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me; he has sent me to bring good news to the oppressed, to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and release to the prisoners; to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn; to provide for those who mourn in Zion to give them a garland instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, the mantle of praise instead of a faint spirit. They will be called oaks of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, to display his glory.
Isaiah 61:1-3 NRSV
You could be someone going through the same situation, you could feel unworthy or you could be someone who is questioning His existence. But remember that God has placed a calling in your life, and He is waiting for you to turn to Him. Your sins could be piled up before and the enemy would try to play with you’re conscience, making you feel guilty for your every wrongdoing. Apostle Paul was persecuting the followers of Christ but God touched Him on the way to Damascus, used him extraordinarily for His Kingdom work. Works of Apostle Paul have been written almost all over the New Testament, and God made him stand firm in his faith till his last breath. Today I encourage you to give heed to His calling, He needs people like you and me to serve His Kingdom. One experience of His love can change your life and make you want to experience it every day. Remember, that God is willing to use your story to touch someone and change their life.
This chain of love is eternal!
A prayer of commitment,
Lord, thank you for your unfailing love. Thank you for forgiving my sins and for accepting me by your grace. Today, I pray that you’d help me to give heed to your calling and use me as a channel of blessing in the lives of people.
It is so by Faith, and by Faith so it is. AMEN❤
