Together We Reflect Christ

Updated: Aug 8, 2021

When the ways of people please the Lord, he causes even their enemies to be at peace with them.

Proverbs 16:7 NRSV

We must be delighted to experience the beauty of God in every minuscule part of our lives. Whether we go for a walk in nature, see a cloud pass by or even stargazing at night, we must have some special place to be alone and enjoy the peace that comes with spending time with our creator and His creation. Hence, I have always loved the semblance between believers of Christ and a Garden. Though there are a variety of plants and flowers, they all seem to be unique and beautiful as they come together. Likewise, each one of us is unique and beautiful with our own individuality, and we are working together to reflect the beauty of Christ.

"Where flowers bloom, so does hope!"

- Lady Bird Johnson

You are the light of the world. A city built on a hill cannot be hid. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven.

Matthew 5:14‭,16 NRSV

As workers of peace, this must be the ultimate purpose for our lives. But too often, we allow our eyes to stray away from the way our God wants us to live, in favour of following our own choices and sinful desires. An important detail we often overlook is, it is impossible to please God without sacrifices. When our eyes start to wander to the world, we will begin to view our own lives, as one filled with failures, dejection and despair, and we tend to neglect the grace and love we received through Jesus Christ in our lives. We carry the Holy spirit within us, which gives us the strength for prayer, peace, forgiveness and repentance. Let this make the calling in our lives to be different. To share the gift of salvation that we received, through every good work that we do, so that we can fulfill our greatest purpose in life.

The more we let God take us over, the more truly ourselves we become - because He made us.

- C.S. Lewis

Finally, brothers and sisters, we ask and urge you in the Lord Jesus that, as you learned from us how you ought to live and to please God (as, in fact, you are doing), you should do so more and more.

1 Thessalonians 4:1 NRSV

Prayer for Purpose

Father, we thank you for giving us the responsibility to share your truth in this world. Lord, help us to lead a life worthy of you, so that we can be pleasing in your eyes. Help us to bear fruit in every good work and grow in your heavenly wisdom and fulfill our ultimate purpose in life.

It is so by Faith and by Faith so it is. AMEN❣
