Remain Connected (Blooming In God)
Abide in me as I abide in you. Just as the branch cannot bear fruit by itself unless it abides in the vine, neither can you unless you abide in me. I am the vine, you are the branches. Those who abide in me and I in them bear much fruit, because apart from me you can do nothing. Whoever does not abide in me is thrown away like a branch and withers; such branches are gathered, thrown into the fire, and burned.
John 15:4-6 NRSV
In our journey of growth, we seek to have a closer relationship with God, for which we need to be attentive to how God works in our life. He prunes us so that He can make room for His goodness to enter our lives. However, our most tempting phase in life starts when God is in the process of our restoration. We tend to repeat the same mistakes, and allow worldly distractions to steal our time away from God. There might be instances where reading the scriptures and praying would seem like a burden to our eyes. It is in these times that we need to remember the abundance of love and grace we have received in our lives. Because no one can love us like our God, Hence, we need to question if there is any purpose in living a life without Jesus?
To pursue a real relationship with God, we need to keep pushing ourselves even when we do not feel like spending time in His presence. We must have the discipline to stay consistent in our prayers and efforts to grow closer to God even when it becomes hard. That is why fellowships are very important, as we need to surround ourselves with people whose hearts are connected to God. To strengthen each other through the different seasons of life and to stay rooted in God's word. We need to thrive in our faith for God to introduce new blessings, new places, new resources and new people into our lives. Only then will we witness His purpose in our lives.
“So that you may lead lives worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him, as you bear fruit in every good work and as you grow in the knowledge of God.”
Colossians 1:10 NRSV
