Praise Through Pain

There are times where life takes a huge turn and we are all left with ourselves in the middle of the storm. The first ever response that our body chooses to take is to break down and cry, thinking there’s no way out of the situation or the pain that we got through. In the most crucial times like these, that is when our heart tends to forget the fact that our God is much bigger than the problems or the pain that we go through. No matter how deep of a pain we go through, our job is to Praise The Almighty even in the midst of pain.

The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.

Psalms 34:18

In the verse above, we could see that The Lord is close to the brokenhearted. No matter what kind of pain and sufferings that we go through, we have to remember that the Lord has promised that there is a purpose behind it. Hence, rather than drifting apart from God in these challenging times, we should all learn to strengthen the spirit by reading the word of God. All the pains that you go through in that moment will make it seem impossible for you to praise God for all the deeds that He has done for us, but that is the most important thing that we as believers should do.

Rather than allowing all the pain and hurt to destroy us and our spirit, we should use this pain as an instrument to get closer to God. When we praise God in the midst of our pain, our battles are being fought for us. All the walls that we put up against ourselves and all the pain that is distracting the mind, would come crashing down as the Peace of the Lord takes place from within.

"At this, Job got up and tore his robe and shaved his head. Then he fell to the ground in worship and said: "Naked I come from my mother's womb, and naked I will depart. The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away; may the name of the Lord be praised."

Job 1:20-21

Let's take Job as an example. Job is a prosperous man of God that had a very good family and also a good name among his community. But that didn't last long when Satan asked God’s permission to test on Job’s loyalty towards God. Knowing Job, God did allow Satan to test Job to the fullest. At this point, Job lost everything that he had. His money, his children, his health, and even his relationship with his wife. Hence, that did not stop him from praising God. Even after multiple attempts by Satan to persuade Job to curse his own God, Job never did that. Instead, he fell to the ground, surrendering himself to The Almighty and praised Him for He knew whatever the Lord gives, He could also take it away.

Job is a very good example on how we should live our lives. Even when we go through pains from the deepest wounds of our lives, we should never stop praising God for who He is. We as childrens of God should start using Praise as a weapon to overcome the Pains that we go through.

Prayer for Healing

Heavenly Father, we give you thanks for this day, we give you thanks for the strength that you have bestowed upon us. Lord, as we go through trials and tribulations in life, we pray that you would remind us of your faithfulness and also put the thoughts in our hearts to continue praising you even in the midst of our pain. In your holy name we ask and pray. Amen.
