Power Comes Through Prayer

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

In this verse, Paul instructs us to love, walk and act according to the will of the Lord. And the will of the Lord is for us to praise, pray and give thanks to the Almighty. Paul also reminds us to rejoice in every situation and to pray without fail. Some of us would always pray but when we don’t get what we pray for, we get mad at God and stop praying. Well, that is surely not the right thing to do. The Lord knows what is right for us and He would allow things to happen when the time is right. Though what we pray is not happening, we should always give thanks to the Almighty for all the good deeds that He has done in our lives. His faithfulness and mercies are the only reason that we are here today, doing His ministry. Paul then continues by saying that it is the will of God in our lives. The Lord’s will is for us to follow Him and to share the good news, that is all we have to do.


Prayer is the most important part of our lives and we should not let anything stop us from talking to God every single day. There is no right or wrong in prayer, you could just talk to the Lord like how you would talk to your father. Though at times we might be at a loss for words, the Almighty would still know the need and burden of our hearts and would always listen to our prayer and deliver us from unwanted circumstances.


There are many ways to start praying more effectively and one of them is to create a prayer journal. In this prayer journal, you could list down all the prayer points and every time you are about to pray, you could open your prayer journal and pray for each prayer point without missing any of them. Always start your prayer by thanking the Almighty for all the deeds that He has done for you and then proceed to ask God what is His will and wait on His presence. Do not forget to seek forgiveness every time you pray because as a human, we always tend to sin knowingly or unknowingly. So, it is best for us to always seek forgiveness in the presence of the Lord. Never underestimate the power of prayer as it is a communication tool that could work wonders in our lives. Though we feel like our prayers are not being answered, we should never lose hope and we should always learn to wait on God and trust in His timing. God is our source of power. Hence, we should pray every day and also encourage others to do the same, because prayers can really change someone to be a better person and also builds and strengthens our relationship with God.


Prayer for Faith

Heavenly Father, we thank you for giving us the blessing of prayer. Lord, help us to surrender all our sins and grief to you through prayer. We ask that we may receive power and strength to overcome any difficulties in life through prayer. Above all, we ask that you help us to pray without ceasing in every phase of our lives so that we may build and strengthen our relationship with you.

It is so by Faith and by Faith so it is. AMEN❣
