Let Your Light Persist

“You are the light of the world. A city built on a hill cannot be hid. No one after lighting a lamp puts it under the bushel basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven.

Matthew 5:14‭-‬16 NRSV

Battling with an identity crisis? Not sure what to do and how to lead life? There is an amazing work that has been given to each one of us. It is the most challenging work that has been placed in our lives as long as we live here on earth. It’s called the Kingdom work, and our main aim is to share the love of God with others. Each one of us will get different tasks and I can assure you it’ll get interesting and challenging as we start working. It’s pretty easy if we follow the manual and the mentor. Let me introduce you to this manual that helps me refer back and forth as I continue this work, the Bible is what I’m talking about, and it’s a mandatory manual that we’ll have to read, ingrain and reflect on. This will keep us close to the mentor, Jesus, who will accompany us through this journey. He will teach us to love those whom we find hard to love, to be kind to everyone around us, to forgive those who betray us, and to bless those who curse us. Jesus is going to be our mentor and a friend whom we can call upon any time, anywhere. He’s going to be beside us if we allow Him to.

We could have been labeled with different identities by the people around us. But, God has given us the identity of Light, to shine bright, and to reflect His glory. This work will allow us to be a light in someone’s life, to help them walk out of the darkness and experience the same love and grace that we’ll experience as we work with Jesus. Hence, we need to understand that we have been called to be the Light of the world, just as Jesus did.

“I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

John 8:12 ESV

As I mentioned earlier, we are all given different tasks but it would be great if we would not complain and grumble about the work that has been assigned to us. An added tip from my end would be, to finish all the tasks that God gives us and not be jealous of the works of others.

Let Your Light Shine!

As we progress in our faith to accomplish the tasks, that God has placed in our lives, a crown of righteousness awaits from the righteous judge. I can assure you this because a man of faith named Paul, has already lived to bring light in the lives of many.

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. From now on there is reserved for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will give me on that day, and not only to me but also to all who have longed for his appearing.

2 Timothy 4:7‭-‬8 NRSV

Lord, I thank you for being a light in my life and I pray that you’d help me to live as your reflection and bring glory to your name. As I work with every task that you have assigned in my life, help me, and guide me.

It is so by Faith, and by Faith so it is. AMEN❤
