Grow Closer To God

Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.

James 1:4 NIV

A seed does not sprout into a plant unless it has its essentials to grow. Light, air, water, nutrients and space, because even a single day without one of these, can cause the plant to become shriveled. And so, the journey from its root to its blossom, needs consistent care and effort. We need to water them, change their soil, give constant attention even when it appears like no actual growth has taken place, we do this everyday with patience because we are aware that foundation takes time and everything begins with the root.

It is in the same manner that our spiritual lives need to be taken care off, because accepting Jesus Christ is easy. But, we are truly tested when we try to grow in our relationship with Him. It is where consistency plays a major role!

To grow in our spiritual life, amidst every challenge that may arise requires a particular dedication and consistency. That is, to pray when we do not feel like praying, setting aside time to read God's word, to try our best to live holy each and every single day without giving up.

True challenge lies in our constant relationship with God, which will allow God to build His foundation within us. And, with time, God's constant love and care will help us to grow and mature in our personal and spiritual lives and make us worthy to experience His peace and blessings.

...Their leaves will not wither nor their fruit fail, but they will bear fresh fruit every month, because the water for them flows from the sanctuary.

Ezekiel 47:12 NRSV

Prayer for Growth

Heavenly Father, we thank you for your constant love and care for us. Lord, help us to be consistent in our efforts to please you. Encourage and hold us, when we feel like giving up, and as we wait patiently, we ask that you build your foundation within us, so that we can grow spiritually and become worthy to bear fruit in every good work.

It is so by Faith and by Faith so it is. AMEN❣
